WHO ARE LUTHERANS?

You may be thinking of Garrison Keillor and jello and potlucks. Not that these are bad, but we think that Lutherans have a lot more to offer the world. Light of the World is firmly Lutheran and yet also seeks to "break out of the jello mold" into what's faithful and good for the next generation. We're still in the middle of inventing that. WE ARE

...starting a church where we're serious about having fun. Where people of all ages and backgrounds worship together. Where we take action in the community to address suffering and injustice. Where everyone is welcome. We take our name seriously. We seek to be light in a world that can sometimes be pretty dark. We are an unlikely church!

Not too long ago, Pastor Deb was working in the corporate world, never dreaming that God would change her life in a such a dramatic way.

Not long ago, the folks who are now part of Light of the World never dreamed that being part of a new church would be so fun and meaningful. We wonder what other unlikely things will happen?

Come, join us, and be part of something new and meaningful.

WE ARE

...all kinds of people. We're from Farmington, Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, Lakeville and Burnsville. We are young and old, new to God and committed to God, weak at heart and strong hearted, suffering in spirit and sound in spirit, seeking compassion and sharing compassion. From children to adults, single, married, divorced, remarried, hybrid families, and significant others; all are in community as 'one' people. From the beginning one thing has been clear... we all sense that God is up to something pretty awesome in our community. We are on fire with the sense of urgency to invite everyone to experience this openness, adventure and family that God is inviting us to share with one another.
